Abstract

Those physicians, who are inclined to invest rashly in mining stocks and enterprises, might find it advantageous to read this little book on "The Business of Mining." After describing in a more or less non-technical way the varieties of mines and methods of mining, the author devotes considerable space to a sensible discussion of mining as an investment, giving some needed attention to the genus "promoter," a study of whose methods may be of interest and value to the would-be investor.
