Gilman Thompson, Professor of Physiology in the University Medical School, has read before the Academy of Medicine a paper on " The Fallacy of the So-called Hot Air Treatment of Phthisis " which ought to have a good effect on the profession and public of this country by exposing the untenableness of the claims put forth for the method in question. That this method is being practiced to a very considerable extent, is evident from the fact that a large establishment is being maintained in this city for the manufacture and sale of the hot air apparatus. This establishment, known as the "Dr. Louis Weigert Company,"
