Data Errors in: Extended vs Short-term Buprenorphine-Naloxone for Treatment of Opioid-Addicted Youth: A Randomized Trial

JAMA. 2013;309(14):1461. doi:10.1001/jama.2012.14679

Data Errors: In the Original Contribution entitled “Extended vs Short-term Buprenorphine-Naloxone for Treatment of Opioid-Addicted Youth: A Randomized Trial,” published in the November 5, 2008, issue of JAMA (2008;300[17]:2003-2011), there were incorrect data reported in Table 2 and in the “Results” section (the paragraph “Posttreatment Outcomes: Months 6, 9, and 12” on page 2009). During the course of the study, the authors had expanded the data dictionary, causing a renumbering of the drugs analyzed. Some data were reported according to the numbering of the first, shorter data dictionary; cocaine use data were mistakenly reported as marijuana use, and another drug class was reported in place of marijuana use. The errors did not affect the primary outcome or secondary outcomes reported in the article. The article has been corrected online.
