Errors in Patient Page

JAMA. 2013;310(7):750. doi:10.1001/jama.2013.39947

In the Patient Page entitled “Head Lice” published in the June 12, 2013, issue of JAMA (2013;309[22]:2398 doi:10.1001/jama.2013.4430), errors occurred. The fifth sentence in the first paragraph under “Treatment” should have read “Prescription-strength agents may be needed.” The second paragraph, which previously read “There is no clear scientific evidence that lice can be suffocated by home remedies such as mayonnaise or olive oil, but they may be suffocated by Cetaphil cleanser. Tea tree oil is another helpful natural remedy.” should read “There is no clear scientific evidence that lice can be suffocated by home remedies such as mayonnaise or olive oil.” This article has been corrected online.
