Incorrect Reporting of Funding in: New Screening Tool Reveals Genes Essential for Cancer Cells' Survival

JAMA. 2008;299(16):1902. doi:10.1001/jama.299.16.1902-a

Incorrect Reporting of Funding: In the Medical News & Perspectives story entitled “New Screening Tool Reveals Genes Essential for Cancer Cells' Survival” published in the March 19, 2008, issue of JAMA (2008;299[11]:1247-1248), a funding estimate was listed incorrectly. On page 1248, in the second full paragraph, the second sentence should read “This is a 3-year, $100-million pilot project dedicated toward understanding the molecular basis of cancer through large-scale sequencing and other genome analysis technologies. The costs will be evenly shared between the National Cancer Institute and the National Human Genome Research Institute.”
