In THE article, "Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule—United States, 1998," on page 11 the asterisk (*) and dagger (†) footnotes of the table (in the original MMWR) were incorrect. The third sentence of the asterisk footnote (footnote 1 in JAMA) should read "Combination vaccines may be used whenever any components of the combination are indicated and its other components are not contraindicated." The sixth sentence of the dagger footnote (footnote 2 in JAMA) should read "The second dose of vaccine is recommended at age 1-2 months and the third dose at age 6 months."
