Incorrect Affiliation

JAMA. 2001;285(19):2451. doi:10.1001/jama.285.19.2451

In the editor's note that accompanied the Controversies article entitled "Industry Strongly Supports Continuing Medical Education," published in the April 18, 2001, issue of THE JOURNAL (2001;285:2012-2014), an incorrect affiliation was given. The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) was incorrectly identified as being "of the American Medical Association." The American Medical Association is 1 of 7 member organizations of the ACCME; the others are the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Hospital Association, the Association for Hospital Medical Education, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, and the Federation of State Medical Boards of the United States.
