Incorrect Wording in News From the Food and Drug Administration

JAMA. 2016;316(5):545. doi:10.1001/jama.2016.10731

The Medical News & Perspectives article entitled “Food Label Facelift,” published in the July 5, 2016, issue of JAMA,1 incorrectly stated that the percent of daily values for total sugars and trans fat will remain on the updated Nutrition Facts food label. The amount in grams of total sugars and trans fat contained in food products will continue to appear on the new label, but they will not be expressed as a percent of daily values.
