Successful Treatment of Lupus Pernio With Adalimumab

The patient is a 37-year-old African American woman with a history of biopsy-confirmed pulmonary sarcoidosis, biopsy-confirmed sarcoidosis of the nasal sinuses, sarcoid uveitis, and biopsy-confirmed skin sarcoidosis. Her skin sarcoidosis included indurated disfiguring facial lesions over the bridge of her nose, cheeks, and scattered other areas of her face consistent with lupus pernio; innumerable 0.5- to 4.0-cm indurated plaques scattered diffusely around her body; and plaques present in tattoos.
