This comprehensive book on cosmetics discusses almost every aspect of the field. Each type of cosmetic from moisturizers, foundations, permanents, or relaxing hair products is presented from a historical and practical point of view.
If someone were looking for a quick summary in general, or were trying to learn about cosmetics in one weekend, this treatise would probably be too detailed. However, as a reference book for specifics, eg, how to camouflage the scalp in someone with moderate to severe alopecia areata, this would be the place to go.
