Tumor of the Right Shoulder in a Newborn

Arch Dermatol. 1998;134(9):1145-1150. doi:

Hematoxylin-eosin–stained sections showed the presence of lobules of small vascular channels lined by a mature endothelium in the superficial and deep dermis. There was prominent interlobular fibrous tissue containing a few dilated vascular spaces lined by a layer of endothelium (Figure 2).

Shortly after biopsy, the tumor began to involute. By the time the patient was 8 months old, the raised part of the lesion had completely regressed, being replaced by a slight atrophic depressed area. The pale halo at this time was still present and well evident (Figure 3).
