Bravo! Mary Maloney, Abel Torres, Thomas Hoffman, and Klaus Helm have put together an outstanding and comprehensive text on surgical dermatopathology. This is a wonderful reference text. I recommend it for all dermatologic surgeons. The text covers laboratory issues as well as the histopathology of various cutaneous tumors.
The first several chapters deal with many aspects of laboratory histopathology. The text reviews the equipment and techniques of frozen, permanent, and Mohs fixed-tissue preparation and sectioning. Even if the reader does not plan on actually doing any of these procedures, knowing how each procedure is done and understanding the strengths and limitations of the various procedures is educational.
