Ashcroft et al performed a quantitative systematic review to assess the comparative efficacy and tolerability of topical calcipotriol in the treatment of mild to moderate chronic plaque psoriasis. The authors searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane Collaboration Controlled Clinical Trials Registry, and BIDS index to scientific and technical proceedings using relevant keywords and contacted the manufacturers of calcipotriol.
