The Role of Narrowband UV-B Plus Alefacept Combination Therapy in the Treatment of Psoriasis—Reply

Our recently published half-body comparison study1 has unambiguously shown that NB UV-B irradiation accelerated and improved the clearance of psoriatic lesions in patients treated with alefacept. The administration of NB UV-B did significantly (P < .001) speed up the initial clearance of psoriatic lesions during the 12-week study period, and, by week 12, a PASI reduction of greater than 75% was found significantly more often on NB UV-B–treated body halves (12 of 14 patients [86%]) than on the nonirradiated body halves (6 of 14 [43%]; P < .03).
