Dermatopathology is the most important aid to clinical diagnosis in dermatology. Its value in establishing a specific diagnosis of all kinds of diseases, inflammatory and neoplastic chief among them, is unquestioned.15 Today the field of dermatopathology has expanded beyond traditional morphologic evaluation by gross and light microscopy to include electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry, and molecular biology.
