Arch Dermatol. 2001;137(11):1539. doi:

Cosmeceuticals, edited by Elsner and Maibach, is the most recent addition to the 23-volume Cosmetic Science and Technology Series published by Marcel Dekker Inc. This series of books forms the most comprehensive collection of material discussing cosmetics and skin care products. The topics covered include cosmetic regulation, testing, and efficacy in addition to formulation issues dealing with oral hygiene, antiperspirants, deodorants, sunscreens, and hair care products. These texts are primarily directed at the cosmetic chemist, yet the material presented is timely for the dermatologist who wishes to perform clinical testing of cosmetics and skin care products or who simply wants to obtain some insight into the science behind skin care products.
