Because she has trained the most number of pediatric dermatologists in the US, many of whom have distinguished themselves as clinicians, teachers, and investigators.

All 3 at Johns Hopkins.

Lack of pediatric dermatologists in her time (she recalls only 2: Al Jacobs at Stanford and Henry Pearlman in Philadelphia).

Bob Crounse in Dermatology and Mary Ellen Avery in Pediatrics were tremendous influences, while at Hopkins.
