Abstract

To the Editor.—  A black spot developed on my right heel in December 1975, at which time I was not engaged in any athletic activity. The lesion persisted for several months and spontaneously cleared.Recently (August 1976), I had difficulty in getting into my shoes, I recalled similar trouble with the same shoes when the black spot appeared. It seems that trauma, athletic or otherwise, may cause calcaneal petechiae.1
