Patients With Mycosis Fungoides.
Physicians are needed to help locate and patch-test patients with early mycosis fungoides. In a National Cancer Institute-sponsored study, 23 antineoplastic agents used topically are being evaluated for their effectiveness. Physicians will be reimbursed for each drug tested. Prior treatment does not necessarily exclude a patient. The procedure may be performed by an assistant under supervision in the physician's office. Early results with several agents are encouraging. For more information or to obtain materials for testing, please contact Janice Almond, MPH, or Stanford I. Lamberg, MD, Department of Dermatology, The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore, MD 21205; or call collect (301) 396-9185.
