Professor Korting, director of the skin clinic of the University of Mainz, West Germany, edits Dermatology in Practice and Clinic, an up-to-date text in a series of four volumes. The just-published volume 3 is prepared by 34 authors, mostly dermatologic academicians of German-speaking countries, several of them from other European regions, and all experts in their respective fields.
This timely compendium describes morphology, modern pathophysiology, and therapy, and provides up-to-date nosologic regroupings, new disease pictures, and new causal facts.
The various chapters of this book deal with bullous diseases, hematologic diatheses, melanin pigment anomalies, functional disturbances and diseases of sweat glands, diseases of sebaceous gland follicles, diseases of hair, pathophysiology and pathochemistry of seborrhea, nail diseases, oral mucous membrane afflictions, diseases of blood vessels, subcutaneous fatty tissue, vessel and connective tissue systems, pseudoxanthoma elasticum, phakomatoses, avitaminoses, storage, and metabolic diseases.
