This unique book is made so by the fact that its principal authors include two dermatologists (Drs Coleman and Davis) and a plastic surgeon (Dr Colon). It is indeed refreshing in this age of competition and debate among surgical specialists as to what specialty is competent to perform what surgical procedure to see practitioners in two different specialties offer a textbook on outpatient surgery of the skin. The stated purpose of this book is to present the reader with techniques the authors have tried, tested, and used in their practice. One would expect this work, then, to be that of stated opinions rather than the highly referenced book that it is. It is exactly that, with references being few and often repeated from one chapter to another.
The organizational intent of the book is based on outpatient cold-steel surgical procedures, beginning with outfitting one's office and continuing through basic techniques,
