More than 20 years after the initial edition of this popular German-language textbook, an English-language version has been published for the first time. While the concept and organization of the book is similar to the previous German-language edition of 1983, the latter has been substantially expanded with particular new emphasis on topics of increasing current interest such as the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, lymphomas, Lyme disease, and other infectious diseases. The new edition contains 69 chapters, each of which discusses a broad variety of dermatoses in a systematic manner and concludes with an extensive bibliography that also includes a number of relevant references from French- and German-language sources.
