Charles Camisa has put together a beautifully written, comprehensive review of psoriasis that belongs on the shelf of every clinician taking care of patients with this disease.
Every aspect of psoriasis, including its pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment, is covered in an orderly, easy-to-understand writing style. The book is clearly written for clinicians. Much of the book is organized in a ''how-to'' style. There are easy-to-follow instructions on how to administer psoralens plus UV-A, how to set up a psoriasis day-treatment center, and how to administer UV-B. Explicit safety monitoring instructions for drugs such as methotrexate are outlined in a user-friendly fashion. There are tables with easy-to-follow instructions for administering bath water treatment of handfoot psoriasis. Most importantly, the material is presented in a practical, easy manner with specific instructions. The appendix, for example, lists names, addresses, and telephone numbers of phototherapy equipment suppliers.
