The link between patient satisfaction and reimbursement is not a new concept to cosmetic surgeons or to other service industries. An aesthetically pleasing environment combined with a personable surgeon providing superior surgical results that meet or exceed patient expectations will build a successful practice. People are often willing to pay a premium for what they feel is a high level of service—from hotels to airlines, and even in health care. The freedom of consumers to choose between service providers who deliver the highest level of satisfaction drives better service.
