Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the thoughtful and constructive remarks by Gary C. Burget, MD,1 in his commentary concerning our article.2 First, let me say that I consider Burget the premier authority on nasal reconstruction in the world. Having worked closely with him on several very challenging cases I can say (without any hesitation or sarcasm) that the intellectual crumbs that fall from his surgical table are pearls that I have gathered and used to improve my surgical practice. His principles and concepts are ideals that every surgeon performing this type of surgery should emulate and strive to achieve. Every point he makes regarding this article is correct—in the ideal sense.
