Rhinoplastic surgery has helped to define the specialty of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery more than any other procedure. The pursuit of the art and science of nasal surgery has been a passionate focus of facial plastic surgeons for over 100 years. The founders of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) had a primary interest in rhinoplasty, organizing many courses and meetings devoted to rhinoplastic surgery. The advanced rhinoplasty course of the AAFPRS continues to be the largest and most recognized in the world.
