The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) appreciate the focus of the article by Mendelson et al1 in the Archives, which analyzes the disclosure of relationships with industry in joint guidelines. Published evidence shows that the use of our guidelines has improved quality and treatment and reduced deaths and health care disparities for patients with cardiovascular disorders and stroke.
