In this issue of the journal, Chaudhry et al1 raise a number of important questions for those of us caring for community-dwelling older adults. How can we do a better job of relieving symptoms at the end of life? What efforts will be required to improve quality of life in those last months of living? How should we best manage symptoms in the context of multimorbidity? Do we have sufficient evidence to know what to do?
