To the Editor In their excellent article, Tjia and colleagues1 estimate the prevalence of medication with questionable benefit used by nursing home (NH) residents with advanced dementia in the United States. This issue was formerly assessed in a sample of 4156 European NH residents participating in the Service and Health for Elderly in Long TERm care (SHELTER) project.2
