We thank Dr Pignatti and colleagues for their letter. We are most interested in their findings that among a cohort of older Italian women, greater physical activity, specifically walking, was associated with less 12-year cognitive score decline as measured with the MSQ. The fact that these findings are very similar to ours supports the association between physical acitivity and prevention of cognitive decline. We were curious whether in their cohort similar findings were observed for men.
