We read the very interesting article by Fraquelli et al1 that appeared in the October 8, 2001, issue of the ARCHIVES in which the authors reported a significantly higher frequency of gallstone disease in patients with Crohn disease (CD) than that reported in the general population. Moreover, age, site of disease at diagnosis, and the history, number, and site of bowel resections were independently associated with gallstone disease.
