To the Editor The Invited Commentary by Parks and O’Malley1 in a recent issue of JAMA Internal Medicine highlighted the modest impact of the Choosing Wisely campaign to reduce low-value care. Physicians need more help moving practice in this direction; improving how we communicate with patients about the value, or lack thereof, of various tests and treatments is critical for future success. One way to achieve this will be through the application of the educational outreach approach known as academic detailing.2
