We appreciate the insight provided by Harada and Fujimura and share their concerns regarding the reliability of information surrounding drug interactions.1 Within the last decade, our understanding of the P-glycoprotein and cytochrome P450 systems has dramatically improved. Unfortunately, a disturbing number of life-threatening drug interactions also have been discovered among the medications approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) during this same period.
