Although the material presented in this little book is perfectly sound, there really seems very little reason for a special treatise on this subject. Actually the first third of the volume is on general matters, such as nutrition, electrolytes, and early ambulation. The special sections are somewhat sketchy; the tumors of the pituitary, for example, are dealt with in two pages. However, surgeons may find useful hints here or may quickly orient themselves on some point.
