This meaty volume provides a carefully selected diet of clinical literature, including abstracts of papers of interest and use to technicians as well as to pathologists responsible for the operation of clinical pathology laboratories; it contains abstracts of more esoteric content of fundamental research and abstracts of reports dealing with investigative and clinical aspects of morbid anatomy. The readable abstracts are sufficiently detailed to be useful but succinct. Thus the editor has achieved—to an unusual extent —the objective of all such volumes; that is, to provide brief, valid, and useful references to current literature as interesting mediacal reading. Many interspersed, sometimes humorous, always pertinent editorial comments and a special discussingcal article by Sir Roy Cameron discussing the present position of Virchow's six propositions of Die Cellularpathologie are of interest and value. A satisfactory index and table of contents as well as a moderate number of appropriate illustrations are included. This
