The fourth edition of Anderson's Pathology is designed to present a thorough coverage of pathology within the limitations of a single volume. Indeed, a consideration of the number of pages and the relative smallness of the type (9 point) leads one to the conclusion that this should be the most comprehensive single volume work on pathology of those currently available. Previous editions have been so regarded by most pathologists. The current edition represents a revision and slight reorganization of the book with the addition of chapters on hypersensitivity diseases and mesenchymal (soft tissue) tumors.

The organization of the book is planned to make it both acceptable as a textbook and useful as a reference. Illustrations are generally well selected and well reproduced, and there is an extensive and well-organized bibliography to aid those who wish to pursue a specific subject in greater depth.
