This is the best book that has been published to date on a subject that is generally misunderstood by doctors, lawyers, legislators, and editors. Textbooks, newspapers, slick magazines, movies, and TV have compounded the hysteria and befuddlement. The author of this long-needed book has been a clear-thinking student in this field for over 40 years. He has cleared up a lot of rubbish and hogwash over the years and has accomplished much by way of urging people, including senators, to see the forest as well as the individual trees. Throughout the book there are case histories that illustrate the concepts of a stellar bedside clinician.
