This volume contains the edited transcript of the Fourth Conference on Cerebrovascular Diseases held in Princeton, NJ on Jan 8th, 9th and 10th, 1964, under the auspices of the American Neurological Association and the American Heart Association and supported by a grant from the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness. Previous conferences were held in January 1954, January 1957, and January 1961. All have been previously published and the present volume follows the format of the earlier ones. Among 60-odd participants were individuals prominent in various disciplines having some relationship to the overall problem of cerebrovascular disease. Neurologists, internists, surgeons, clinical and experimental physiologists, pathologists, etc, as well as those interested in coagulation, electronics, and physics were present. There were seven major sections and within each section, several papers were presented. The discussions following each paper were included in continuity.
