The papers and essays presented in this small volume were prepared for a course given in the spring of 1964; there are 15 papers and four panel discussions on selected topics of the greatest interest as new knowledge in gastroenterology. Each paper is a discussion in depth of the subject with which the authors are most familiar. They are well organized, extensively illustrated, and average about 15 pages each. A number of the excellent reviews such as that by J. N. Hunt on "Gastric Secretion," "Ulcerogenic Tumors of the Pancreas" (E. H. Ellison), "Hepatic Circulatory Changes in Man" (S. Sherlock), "Role of Liver in Fat Metabolism" (K. J. Isselbacher), and "Electron Microscopy of the Liver" (F. Schaffner) are similar to material reviewed by the same authors and previously published in other places. A more unique body of material is found in the discussion of the "Endocrine Hormones on the Tissues
