The author is a known authority on renal diseases and a pioneer in the field of kidney transplantation. This second edition of his monograph has kept the same general organization as the first and no attempt has been made to change the logical treatment of this controversial field.

The book also includes a section on functional adaptation to both acute and chronic renal failure. The clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment, and detailed techniques of peritoneal and hemodialysis, and permanent A-V fistulas are given.
