This neat little paperback gives the impression that geriatrics in Scotland has been of good quality and has received recognition as a topic for postgraduate attention. The book is composed of the 30 separate papers that were read at a conference held in Glasgow on Nov 20-22, 1963, under the auspices of the Glasgow Postgraduate Medical Board. They were printed in this volume for distribution to those who had attended the conference and to those who were unable to attend. Each of the papers presents the considered views held by an attending specialist or a medical school professor. Style is simple and direct and invites attention to the changes that have taken place in the past ten years. About 20 references are listed at the end of each paper. A session was devoted to epidemiology and gerontology, one to cerebrovascular disease, one to urology in the elderly, one to psychiatry,
