This volume is concise and precise and deals with one of the more common problems faced in clinical medicine. The author, who has been long interested in cerebrovascular disease and who has made many contributions in this area, presents a well-written monograph which is clinically oriented and directed both to the student and to the practitioner. It is exceedingly well written and, while the scope is broad, the material is presented in a precise and readable fashion. It is the type of book which one could read in a matter of hours without too much difficulty and without becoming bored.
The format of the book is a logical one. Some general comments concerning the cerebral circulatory anatomy, cerebral blood flow, and pathology are presented. The clinical aspects of the book are not presented in the usual anatomical fashion but rather in terms of the temporal occurrence of events. This is
