Abstract

Radiologist Marc Smith has produced a unique and charming book. With the help of colleagues, he has gathered 965 radiographic interpretation errors and analyzed them by etiology. He lists complacency, faulty reasoning, lack of knowledge, under-reading, and pure communication errors as vectors. Illustrative radiographs are sprinkled throughout. The style is refreshingly candid. It is a thoroughly entertaining monograph guaranteed to stimulate introspection among nonradiologist roentgenogram interpreters.
