Busy general psychiatrists dealing with the everyday problems of adult maladjustment tend to become intellectually breathless in the rarified atmosphere of the psychoanalyst. This symposium will do much to give the medical psychologist a more appreciative view of the practical value of child analysis. It is well written with clear and logically comprehensive histories presented in an interesting way, refreshingly free of sectarian jargon. In each case the rationale of management is adequately substantiated and convincing; the results of treatment are stimulating and encouraging. This book is a desirable addition to any psychiatrist's office library.
