This volume contains the proceedings of the symposium on breast cancer held July 1966 at the Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans. Thirty-five participants presented data on therapeutic experience and experimental studies pursuant to etiology and pathogenesis of breast carcinoma. Such classic problems as radical vs simple mastectomy, the role of endocrine therapy, and the pros and cons of extirpative therapy were debated. Lively discussions followed each of the six major sections.
