The old Labat regional anesthesia text has been a sought-after volume for many, many years. Without question it was one of the finest from the diagrammatic point of view that has ever been published. The book, unavailable for many years, has become a collectors item. Doctor John Adriani has undertaken to reedit this volume and bring it up to date where necessary. This he has done in an admirable and sympathetic manner. Fortunately, he has incorporated most of the very, very fine drawings which make this book unique. Where new techniques have come into their own they are included, and the bibliography has been updated appropriately. Any anesthesiologists interested in regional anesthesia will truly enjoy owning this book not only because it is a good teaching text, but because it also falls into a class of anesthesia esoterica.
