This monography is primarily devoted to proving the thesis that fetal malformation can be caused by amnion rupture during gestation which results in production of "multiple fibrous strands issuing from the surface of the amnion sac as well as from the amnion-denuded chorion which had contained the fetus." An incredible bibliography reaching back to 1752 for supporting literature is included. It is liberally illustrated with photographs from the author's personal files to document the points of his thesis, and is a thoroughly enjoyable and provocative document.
