Seventy-four authors (including the two editors) have contributed to this monumental work. Following a section of "General Cardiology," which covers the development of the cardiovascular system, the alterations at birth, the genetic aspects of heart disease, and the physical and technical methods of examination, there are four parts: "Congenital Defects," "Infectious Diseases," "Metabolic and Degenerative Diseases," "Special Problems," and "Cardiac Surgery."
Numerous illustrations enrich the volume, numbered by parts. Each chapter is followed by its own bibliography. This book will certainly become a "classic," and will interest pediatricians as well as internists. It is a must for anyone working in the field.
