Abstract

This interesting compendium of original articles is the third volume of an increasingly outstanding series of books edited by Sheldon Sommers. Its stated purpose is to be "an effective bridge between the textbook approach and series monographs which present current but previously published matter." In this mission it succeeds; each of the 14 articles offers original data and views by authoritative investigators in diverse fields.

Utilizing his own impressive scope of knowledge of important worldwide happenings in pathology, Sommers has put together a publication of rare timeliness. Variety of subjects is evident in this volume when one views the titles ranging from "Histopathologic Diagnosis of Protozoal Diseases," through "Evaluation of Percutaneous Renal Biopsy," to "Enzyme Cytochemistry for the the Pathologist" and "Concerning the Impediment to Remyelinization in the Human Central Nervous System."
