Just to produce a 1,280 (8½ X 11 inches) page book on medical malpractice must be some sort of record. At best, it is an exhibition of the author's conviction and perseverance; at worst, it is an example for others not to imitate.
In the first place, the preparation time for this edition was too long. I found few citations or references more recent than 1964. This is inadequate for a book which devotes a lot of its space to the legal aspects of medical practice and malpractice. Too much has happened in the interim!
In the second place, to cover the entire subject of professional liability takes more expertise than any one person can command. To overcome this limitation, the author has quoted freely from other sources; but in some of his own embellishments, he is prone to make statements of law which may prove misleading. For instance, he
